Holding steady after last week’s dramatic 5 lbs. loss.

After last week’s big 5 lbs. loss, my weight held steady. And that’s just fine with me. Why? I focused on something much more exciting than a number on a scale — PARKOUR!

Yep, after weighing in, I headed to my first parkour class…and it was a doozy.

My hubby took some action shots of me learning how to jump, land, roll and vault. I’ll post those later.

I won’t go into too much detail here but I will say it was the most fun and greatest challenge I’ve experienced in a gym. Truth is it didn’t feel like exercise. It was pure fun with a touch of fear. I felt like I was learning how to be a kid again. Awesome!

I'm wearing my Parkour White Band with pride after my 2-hour intro class. You need to master skills before you can "level up" and attempt more difficult moves.

I’ve never been this sore in my life. From shoulder down to my toes (yes, my toes!).

Despite the soreness, I loved every second of my parkour class and I’m going back once the soreness goes away.

Playing Catch Up With #FitFluential 100 Challenge
My body doesn’t know what it’s been through.  I know stretching is good for me, but I decided to rest before trying anything. That meant putting off the FitFluential 100 challenge.

Today I’m going to attempt to catch up.

I missed the Russian twist and the donkey kick. Today is the 100 second wall sit. These exercises should help me with my sore legs and abs. I’m not going to worry if I can’t do 100 twists or kicks. I just need a good stretch to help my body recover.

So today its full body stretching for about an hour. I’m working on my legs, back, arms, abs and shoulders (I wasn’t kidding about shoulder to toe soreness!). Afterwards an easy little walk.

If you are not familiar with parkour, take a look at this.
