Are You Sure You Should Avoid Gluten?

Celiac disease is real though it only affects 1% of the population. I have a friend who pays a heavy price for her pizza cravings. And my husband had digestive issues for most of his adult life that went away when he switched to a low-carb diet. But I must confess,  I think a lot of this gluten-free craze is a fad. It’s grown into an urban myth like avoiding MSG. Thanks to Jimmy Kimmel for pointing out most people don’t know what the hell they are doing when it comes to nutrition.

And like all food fads, my proud profession (marketing) has taken advantage of it by calling nearly everything gluten-free, like Coca-Cola (wow, it must be healthy if it’s gluten-free).
