Looking to shake up my weekly menu, I’m visiting some of my favorite low-carb recipe blogs. When I feel like I’m in a cooking rut, I always find great, easy to make, low-carb meals on these sites. The recipes are amazing and will help you lose weight. Plus you’ll find smart cooking tips that save you time and headaches.
Dot’s Go 2 Food Blogs
All Day I Dream About Food – Worth a visit for the low carb ice cream recipes alone! If you’re like me and love to bake but gave it up for the low-carb life, this blog is for you. You’ll find great low-carb, gluten-free ideas for brownies, cookies, cakes and breads. But it’s not all baking. I’m making the tandoori lamb meatballs, cilantro lime cauliflower rice and grilled zucchini lasagna this week.
I Breath…I’m Hungry – Blogger Mellissa Sevigny’s tackles a big issue for those of us eating low-carb: how to make meals more exciting. Amen! I love cooking, but there isn’t much to cooking steak, eggs or bacon…or is there? The thought of breakfast lasagna has me drooling! The recipes are mostly low-carb and gluten-free. Plus Mellissa includes weekly meal plans to help kick-start your low-carb lifestyle. I’m looking at incorporating some of her meal ideas into my weekly plan.
Kalyn’s Kitchen – This one features low-glycemic recipes. You’ll find great ideas for appetizers, breakfast, salads, soups, casseroles, salad dressings, desserts and vegetarian dishes. I especially like the herb and spice blends since I’m all about making rubs for kick a$$ BBQ.
Nom Nom Paleo – Created by Michelle Tam, this paleo recipe site is perfect for low-carb foodies! The recipes are divided by food type (beef, pork, faux rice, etc.) rather than the traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner. The photography on this site is amazing. You feel like you are in the kitchen cooking with Michelle. Plus the recipes are tasty. What more could you want? How about an app for your iPad or iPad Mini? I just downloaded it and am itching to play with it.
Eating low-carb doesn’t mean boring foods. As these bloggers show, you can experiment in the kitchen and create some great, healthy foods that will help you lose the weight.
