Keto Challenge Day 9: Weight Loss!

keto week 2Whatever bug I have kept me up most of the night coughing and sneezing. Although my energy is very low this morning, I had enough to pull myself out of bed and stumble onto the scale.

Weight wise I’m down, despite a couple of missteps last week. At the start of my reset I weighed 232.3. Today I’m at 230.8. Not to shabby.

No doubt my low appetite over the weekend (thanks bug!) contributed to my loss. So I look at the numbers with a very skeptical eye. Despite the lack of sleep I am feeling a little better today as my fever broke earlier this morning.

Practicing Mindfulness
As far as getting back on track with keto, I need to correct the problems (stress induced eating & drinking) from last week.

While convalescing in bed this weekend I made an effort to use my meditation app. Of course, it was easy since I was sick in bed…I mean how much stress is involved with that! Still, it’s good practice. Any time I felt frustrated that I couldn’t do anything, I reached for my phone and listened to some calming sound or music.

That put me right to sleep…almost as good as NightTime NyQuil.

Oh dot I have tried a few ways of losing weight which cost me a fortune with no long lasting results. I chose to do the good old fashioned slow and steady wind the race mindset. I am grateful I found you on YouTube, you certainly have uplifted me. I thankyou so much in sharing your journey and hope this afternoon….oh no it might where you are hahaha, well I hope you awake fresh, healthy.

    Dot,

I just started keto diet 7 months ago and intermittent fasting 18 months ago before that Dukan diet and before that Atkins so I know the struggle is real….this week I started doing restorative (beginners) yoga.IF and keto now combined with yoga everyday to relieve stress and loosen muscles is optimum good health for me…I’m only sorry that I didn’t start doing those things way earlier in life I’m 67 and feel better than I have in 30 years.. I weighed at my highest 325 now I weigh 210…I hate it for you when you have a meltdown as you called it but when you say all the things you’re grateful for I know you will be all right..
Wesley and you are two of my favorites so I was glad he mentioned you in his reset video…He has a great personality but you can out cook him any day..Try some yoga for stress

Wow, I’m super impressed with your awesome success! And thanks so much for the kind words about my cooking. I’m a big admirer of Wes too 🙂 He’s a great cook.

  3. Aw, and this too shall pass…..discipline in faith, hope and love while you rest & boost those Vit. C foods when your well. Peppers, kale, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, peas, chicken livers to name a few. 🌸
