As expected I’m up a few pounds. Four to be exact. And as predicted, I’m not freaked out by it. I’m back on track eating wise. Next week I’m taking a couple of parkour classes, starting my daily 6+ mile walks, and begin my 10K training.
Yes, all is right with the world.
On Area For Improvement
Before my trip to Texas I shifted my eating to a ketogenic diet – low carb, high fat, moderate protein. Despite a few bumps in the road, mainly Tex-Mex dining, I’m enjoying the shift.

My new cookbook. The recipes look amazing and I can’t wait to get into my kitchen I start experimenting!
The biggest challenge I have in going keto is getting my daily fat intake up to 75-80% of calories a day. So that means I need more creativity in the kitchen. To help me I ordered The Ketogenic Cookbook by low carb podcaster/blogger extraordinaire Jimmy Moore and nutritionist Maria Emmerich. If you are not listening to Jimmy’s podcasts (yes there’s more than one…he’s a keto machine!) or visiting Maria’s blog, then you are really missing out.
I’ll have a review of the book up later this week, but for now I’ll just say the recipes look incredible and I’m looking forward to spending some quality time in my own kitchen this week.
